About This Site

Hawaiʻi County booking information is spread across HPD reports, DCR custody tools, court records, and formal records requests. This private reference service brings those official paths together in plain language. It does not publish a booking-photo gallery or hold government records. The purpose is to make the source, custody state, and next records step easier to understand.

What This Reference Does

Hawaiʻi makes much arrest and booking information public, yet the records do not all live in one place. HPD publishes a rolling 48-hour arrest-and-charge report. DCR provides custody and supervision status through SAVIN/VINELink. The courts carry the case after booking, and the Hawaiʻi Community Correctional Center is the named Big Island correctional facility. A records request can be needed for an older report or a booking photo.

This site organizes those distinctions for Hawaiʻi County readers. It explains the difference between an HPD booking event, current cellblock custody, DCR custody, a state sentence, and a later disposition in Third Circuit eCourt Kōkua. It also explains why a booking photo is not proof of guilt and why an official source should be checked before relying on a secondary report. No photo gallery is created or hosted here.

What Visitors Can Find

The pages are arranged around the questions people ask about a recent arrest or public record.

  • The home page combines the Hawaiʻi County booking-record, feed, custody, court, photo-request, and expungement paths.
  • Most Wanted Fugitives explains HPD's rolling wanted releases, tip process, and the restricted public warrant path.
  • Crime News maps local newspapers, online outlets, official releases, and carefully caveated third-party pages.
  • Hilo, Kailua-Kona, and Hawaiian Paradise Park pages explain their HPD district contacts while keeping the countywide booking source intact.
  • Supporting pages describe the private service, contact routing, privacy practices, terms, and legal limits.

Limits of a Private Service

Hawaiʻi County Busted Mugshots is privately operated. It is not connected with the Hawaiʻi Police Department, the Hawaiʻi Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, the Hawaiʻi Judiciary, the state Sheriff Division, or any other government agency. It does not release, hold, transfer, or supervise a person in custody.

  • It cannot confirm a person's current custody status or release.
  • It cannot post bond, arrange a visit, send money, or obtain a record on another person's behalf.
  • It cannot decide whether a photo or report will be released under UIPA.
  • It cannot give legal advice or replace an attorney, court clerk, or records custodian.

Only the originating agency, corrections office, or court can provide the controlling answer about a live case or custody record. Links here are starting points, not official statements from those offices.

Search Partner Disclosure

Some pages contain search boxes supplied by outside providers. Those providers set their own prices, terms, data practices, and result coverage. If a search tool leads to a paid signup, this service may receive a referral fee. That arrangement helps support the site, but it does not give this service control over the partner's results or pricing and does not turn a third-party result into an official Hawaiʻi County record.
